Restaurant General Manager:

Introduction:

We are looking for a passionate and driven general manager for one of our top restaurants in the group. The prospective candidate must be a team player with a willingness to learn. Most importantly the candidate must have a passion for food and an attention to detail. The Restaurant General Manager has the overall responsibility for directing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance and repair, inventory management, team management, recruiting, hiring, termination and retention of team members, financial accountability, and ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer.

Job Requirements:

  • Surveying restaurant demand, identifying and evaluating competitors
  • Controls purchases and inventory, negotiating prices and contracts, developing preferred supplier lists
  • Maintains operations by preparing and enforcing policies and standard operating procedures
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by monitoring, food, beverage, and service offerings
  • Accomplishes restaurant and human resource objectives by recruiting orienting, training, shifting, supporting, and disciplining management staff, as well as communicating job expectations. 
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations, as well as maintaining effective security systems.
  • Maintains sufficient knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry
  • Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities.
  • Controls profit & loss- by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labour, reviewing financial reports.

 

  • High School Diploma with Tertiary Education

 

  • 5+ years of managerial/supervisory experience in the food service or retail environment is required.

 

  • This position requires excellent written, verbal and group communication skills.

 

  • This position requires excellent business math skills.

 

  • This position requires strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to be flexible and adapt in any situation.

 

  • Good computer skills required. Must be proficient with the use of internet and be able to utilize computerized business tools such as email, learning management systems.

 

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and other appropriate software.
