The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Strategic Investments (M&A) team in its execution of transactions (mergers and acquisitions) as well as the general functions of the Corporate Finance / M&A team.
The Principle M&A Specialist will support the execution of buy and sell side transactions by completing the following:
Transaction execution support
Preparation of investment committee / shareholder / board approval documents
Managing shareholder approvals
Reviewing findings from due diligences and raising queries
Preparation of valuations
Review of legal agreements
End to end deal / project management
Training team members
Engaging extensively with other teams (strategy, finance, etc.)

Key roles and responsibilities :Assist in the execution of deals such as mergers and/or acquisitions. Create financial model analyses to support valuations using a number of different valuation methodologies. Produce and maintain a variety of documents and databases which relate to the strategic investments function. Conduct comparables analysis and market research to support internal financial analysis. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge on financial instruments, market conditions and trends. Execute and manage all elements of the transaction process. Manage the advisors that have been appointed on the deals (if any). Manage input and deliverables from internal stakeholders (e.g. finance, tax, legal etc). Contribute towards marking up and reviewing of legal agreements. Compile the necessary investment committee and board documents. Stakeholder engagement (Internal) : Strategic Investments (M&A), Corporate Strategy & Planning, Finance, Regions, Investment Committee, Shareholder Stakeholder engagement (External): Investment Banks, Lawyers, due diligence providers, other advisors

Academic qualifications and certifications:Relevant tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law MBA, CA or CFA preferred
Required experience:4+ years post-graduate experience in corporate finance, private equity or consulting Other areas of experience to be considered on a case-by-case basis Basic understanding of Accounting, Tax and Finance High degree of proficiency in MS Office products, specifically expert working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint Experience working with and presenting to senior executives Willingness to travel
